Barry has a comfortable and interactive teaching style that promotes participation through financial education. He places a high value on the role of client education and the independence it provides.
Barry’s primary focus is helping his clients prepare for a successful retirement and create a well-informed plan for that transition. He enjoys working with individuals and business owners and is aware of the unique needs of both. With twenty plus years of experience navigating the complexities of his clients' financial lives, Barry has cultivated a unique ability to ask questions that ‘really’ matter. This ability allows clients to get answers to their questions and the many questions that may otherwise go unasked.
Barry also has the distinct ability to look at the whole and sum of the parts and create a clear picture. This process promotes clarity of a client's current finances and a positive path toward their future goals.
He and his wife, Lisa, have been residents of the Puget Sound area for over thirty five years. With two teenage sons, he currently volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America and has enjoyed coaching recreational sports for many years. These volunteer associations come with a conviction to teach positive competition and assist young boys into becoming young men.
In addition, Barry is an avid learner and teacher. After graduating from Pacific Lutheran University with a B.A in Education, Barry has continued his learning through hundreds of hours of ongoing financial education. It is this same passion for learning that makes Barry such a good communicator and that makes him want to spend whatever time is necessary to make sure his clients have a solid understanding of their short and long term financial goals and how to pursue them. Over the years, Barry has conducted educational seminars for various groups, companies as well as the Boeing Employees’ Credit Union.
